Hand-panned crystals are here!

A friend of mine, Matt, just took a little trip not too far from Boone and found these crystals in a creek. I can't wait to make something out of them!

Nice! Some of these are really clear.
These are flat crystals. They grow like this I am told. Pretty neat huh?

This is the largest crystal. Matt asked me to make a necklace out of this one, so expect pictures in the next day or so!
PS. Look at all the pop tabs! My boyfriend Thomas and I raided his recycling at his work to collect these. I'm planning on making a tab purse. :)

Reponse for Mobile Phones

I am wondering what my website looks on cell phones right now to see if I need to change any settings or do something different with the design. I would greatly appreciate anyone telling me which type of phone they're using and which browser so I can make sure it looks good on everyone's. Or you could just use a 1-5 scale (5=looks the best) and post it in the comments box. Thanks!!!

Check out the new jewels!

I've added more new pieces to the Bracelets and Necklaces pages. Be sure to check them out; new additions are located near the bottom of the pages. These pieces are also featured in my photobucket slideshow here in the right! Enjoy, and remember, if you want to order one of my pieces, please just e-mail me here.

Boone One Love Festival Update

Well I ended up losing money at the festival today, while simultaneously getting a sunburn. I met some nice people though! One lady eventually felt so sorry for me she brought me some sunscreen. I wish I had gotten the contact information for two boys I met, Chris and Clint, who make gorgeous wire wrapped stone pendants. I gave them one of my cards, so maybe they'll e-mail me soon and I can get come pictures up!

I only made $7 this time around, but out of the 'expected' 400 people, there were only about 75 people there, almost half of which were vendors themselves or musicians. I am considering making some more masculine jewelry, since almost 2/3 of the people interested mostly in my table were male.

My tiny table set up! I had to make a lot of price tags while I was sitting there soaking in the sun.

See how empty it is? Maybe I will have better luck at a different festival. It was a shame. There were so many good workshops there!

New Contact Information and Saturday

Hi all! I've got a new e-mail for Saty&Suny now. It's a rather clever e-mail (satysuny@gmail.com). Feel free to ask for commissions or requests. :)

Also, the Boone One Love festival starts tomorrow at noon. I'm really excited! They're going to have some wonderful workshops (yoga, sustainability, etc) and lots of music and vendors. I will only be able to stay until about 5:30 that night, but it should be lots of fun! I'll take pictures and post them when I get back. They should be plenty colorful in more than one way ;)

Let's try this again

Cute little buttons! These are all from Mom (who made the really pretty necklace in this picture).
In the top left corner there is some rawhide. I am going to be using a piece of it to make a necklace out of the round concho-like pendant below it (also Mom's idea). You can't see it in this picture, but the grey looking pendant next to the glass candy is actually pink.
Pretty and ready to go! Mom made the button + yarn necklace.

Mom bought me this tackle box from Gander Mountain so that I could organize my beads. I've already changed it since this picture though! I figured findings needed to be in a separate box by themselves.

No New Pictures After All

Well, no new pictures after all right now. I will e-mail blogspot for help and also retry later.

More New Additions!

So a general update, the girl who commissioned the yellow ring was very very pleased! The actual ring design was an accident, but luckily it was duplicated. :)

In other news....I went home this past Sunday and my mom shows me some necklaces she made (very cute!) and also some consignment jewelry she picked up among other odds and ends of old jewelry that I can use.

In the most recent news...I am having troubles posting images, so I will try on another post instead. :)

Community Yard Sale at Green Mother Goods

The yard sale went super by my standards today. I got to meet a lot of fun and interesting people. I was invited to a writer's guild in the community at the library by an author whose book I really want to read now! I will be posting an update about her mysterious mystery novel soon. :) I was also invited to vend at the Boone One Love Festival (June25-26) at Grandfather Mountain. I am really looking forward to their sustainable life workshop; I hope I can make it!

Also also I am hoping for a mention in Secondhand Rosies "Modern Day Hunter Gatherers" blog, which you can find right here.      I sold $12 worth of jewelry today. I am about to go get my materials to start on a yellow bead ring commission I just got today!

Peddling Update

Today's peddling tip count: $2!
I sold the rose ring to a little girl's mother. Her middle name is Rose. How appropriate, right?
So now the original "Rose Set" will be reduced by $2. And oops! I go to try to find the link to the Rose Set and realize that I haven't even put it on the blog yet! I will fix that shortly...
Will be vending at Green Mother Goods tomorrow for their Community Yard Sale! I just got the OK so I'm off to make some new pieces for tomorrow! Whatever may be left over will be on the site, so keep watching!

Peddling Today!

I'm going to go peddling on King Street today. Hope it goes well! I really do need to pay my horse barn rent. I will be putting 'sold out' signs (hopefully a lot of them!!) on pictures later today given said peddling goes well.

Goldstone Gem Lore

This gemstone does not actually contain gold! Surprised? It is also not a naturally occurring gemstone either. The unusual story behind this treasure began in the early 1800s. A monk in an Italian monastery discovered it by accident while making glass in a hot furnace. He accidentally spilled a vial of copper fillings into the molten glass, making the first goldstone.
Origin: Europe

Thank you to Mast General Store, Boone NC.

New Photos!

Just posted some new photos! I only have pictures under pages for "Bracelets" and "Pendants" so far. Boone was a bit rainy today (as it usually is) and cut my picture taking time. New photo shoot tomorrow though, so hopefully the sun will be shining so I can get some good shots in.

Opening Shop

I am currently in the middle of photographing items at this time. This may take a while (I'm not very good!). Pictures and prices should be up by Friday afternoon. Who knows...maybe sooner!

About pricing and shipping and shopping: I am hoping to get my Etsy website up and going soon though, so this will be a simpler way to work out shipping. But currently I am going to be working on commission requests and selling my inventory.
